The Time Jesus Called Mary Mother
In John’s Gospel, Jesus from the cross calls Mary a woman among other things, we can think, because she is a female reference, therefore in certain respects especially for women. She is the new woman after Eve, the woman without sin. Then for the first time addressing his disciple he calls her mother of this. So for the first time he calls her mother when she is not only the mother of himself but, in himself, of everyone.
