I have discovered in the field that when husband and wife, beyond normal nervousness and contrasts, in the end try to accept each other by going beyond their differences, the children can tend to grasp the good of both. If the differences become contempt, the children are oriented to follow the strengths and weaknesses of a single parent. In the first case they see them, beyond the limits, as one flesh. And Christian parents can discover over time the effectiveness of the gift of trust in God’s plan (when authentic).
Even in the Church we can find different orientations, which I take to extremes here to make them understood: intellectualism and consequent abstractions, the search for societas christiana; spiritualism, the search for a remnant of pure and hard; fleeing from these problems pragmatism, for example the right match, but without great attention to the development, in the appropriate ways and times, even of identities. So I risk homologation, which is convenient for those who want to empty people. In the same way as identitarianism, spiritualism, closed in on themselves.
These are the three reductionisms of rationalism: if one bases oneself on an abstract reason, one then remains a disembodied soul and an emotional, practical residue of everyday life.
Orientations that can perhaps be experienced as providential, because they question each other.
If one tries to accept one another, to dialogue, to give a prudent space to pluralism also in culture, the faithful can more easily feel led by all this to seek a simple spirituality (from spiritualism) on a serene, very personal path, well beyond of schemes (from pragmatism), towards and thanks to the references of faith (from intellectualism, abstract identitarianism). Growing in the Church and learning from every man. Touching your simple heart in the serene light. Discovering more and more the concrete, divine and human discernment of the Jesus of the Gospels. And so on his own way every man.
A new hope can gradually arise in history that renews the world, culture, life, across the board. The free, simple growth of each one, in the Light that illuminates him, even in the exchange with others. In the appropriate ways and times starting from school. The path also towards a more lively, authentic democracy.
